As Head of Private Markets at Vantage Capital Markets Hong Kong, Ben has built an institutional quality transaction execution and advisory business focused on private enterprises globally. For the past 6+ years, Ben has been extremely active in private markets, focusing on both secondary and primary transactions in equity of private companies, involving his wide network of investors in a variety of categories: VC, PE, sovereign wealth funds, corporate VCs, family offices, private banks, etc.

Prior to this part of his career, Ben was on the buy side for 24 years at Susquehanna International Group (SIG). He managed a 15 person Asia-focused multi strategy desk for 15 years, posting the best returns over the GFC period (2007-2011, incl.) of any multi strategy fund in Asia. Products/strategies traded included convertible bonds & a variety of credit products, equity strategies, macro, ECM, special situations/events, etc.

As part of his time at SIG, Ben was seconded to the Bank of New York from 1996-2001, responsible for trading and managing risk in the bank’s FX and interest rate derivatives, involving vanilla and exotic options and structured products.

Ben began his trading career on the floor of the Chicago Board Options Exchange in 1993-1994.

Ben has a Bachelor’s Degree from Claremont McKenna College in California, graduating with a degree in International Relations in 1992.

With a presence across major tech and AI hubs (Seattle, Boston, Hong Kong, Seoul, Shanghai), the firm partners with exceptional founders to build enduring businesses spanning AI, digital infrastructure, blockchain, and consumer technology.

Before Increment Capital, Mr. Lam was a founding investment team member at Clearlake Capital, an $85+ billion U.S. private equity, special situations and credit investment firm, where he led technology investments with significant contributions to the firm’s early development. Prior to Clearlake Capital, Mr. Lam was a technology private equity investor with Warburg Pincus, an $85+ billion global private equity firm. At Warburg Pincus, Mr. Lam executed leveraged buyout, growth equity and venture capital investments in the U.S., Europe and Asia. Before Warburg Pincus, Mr. Lam served on Microsoft's corporate development team, collaborating closely with the Chairman, CEO, and senior management to execute acquisitions and investments globally. Mr. Lam started his career at JPMorgan in Investment Banking.

Mr. Lam graduated with an A.B., with honors, in Applied Mathematics and Economics from Harvard University.
