Trade Missions
Trademissions.org conducts Trade Missions in partnership with the U.S. Department of Commerce International Trade Administration to assist U.S. Alternative Asset Fund Managers connect with sources of capital.
Trademissions.org’s goal is to help US Fund managers raise capital outside of the US. It has successfully helped many of America’s fund managers get access to capital worldwide.
Trademissions.org can extend your global access to investors. Trade Mission attendees are introduced to a worldwide network of Insurance Companies, Pension Funds, Endowments, Sovereign Wealth Funds, High Net worth Individuals, Family Offices and Multi Family Offices. In partnership with the US Department of Commerce, one-to-one meetings are arranged for each US Fund Manager with between thirty to fifty pre-qualified LP’s. There are never any placement agency fees or commissions on a Trade Mission. The program has been conducted worldwide and continues to grow in popularity.
Trade Missions are held annually in six to eight different countries. Countries that have hosted Alternative Asset Fund Manager Trade Missions include Abu Dhabi, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Columbia, Dubai, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Israel, Japan, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan and the UK.

IRWIN KATSOF
Managing Director
Irwin Katsof is an entrepreneur, trade mission organizer, board member, author, and former rabbi with extensive experience in international business development, capital formation, strategic advisory work, and cross-border investment. He has established a strong record of helping U.S. businesses and fund managers access foreign capital, expand international relationships, and support long-term economic growth.
Since 2012, he has organized more than 103 U.S. Department of Commerce Certified Trade Missions, bringing over 1,400 U.S. venture capital and private equity fund managers to major foreign markets. These missions have supported capital formation for American companies and contributed to job creation in the United States.
- As of February 28, 2026, initiated and conducted 103 U.S. Department of Commerce Certified Trade Missions.
- To be appointed to the Board of Directors of Genie Energy Ltd. (NYSE: GNE) in May 2026.
- As of December 2025, led 102 U.S. Department of Commerce Certified Trade Missions.
- Appointed to the Board of Directors of IDT Corporation (NYSE: IDT) and serves as Chairman of the Audit Committee.
- Published his fourth book, Living Dangerously: How I Tried to Get Rich Without Losing My Soul.
- As of December 2024, led 92 U.S. Department of Commerce Certified Trade Missions.
- Helped facilitate the program’s largest single investment to date: a $271 million investment by an Abu Dhabi family office into Gordon Technologies.
- Graduated summa cum laude from Atlantic University with a Master of Arts in Transpersonal Psychology, with a specialty in Applied Spirituality.
- Completed a four-year professional training program and became a Certified Core Energetics Practitioner. Core Energetics, developed by John Pierrakos, M.D., integrates body psychotherapy and spiritual development.
- Certified as a Trauma and Tension Releasing Practitioner through the training program of Dr. David Berceli / Trauma Prevention, Inc.
- Founded Trademissions.org, an organization focused on helping U.S. fund managers raise capital internationally.
- Organized the first U.S. Department of Commerce Certified Trade Mission to Israel, hosted by U.S. Ambassador Dan Shapiro, to assist U.S. private equity, venture capital, and real estate fund managers in raising capital from leading Israeli institutional investors.
- Founded Katsof Consulting and organized the first “Alternative Investing in Alternative Energy” U.S. Department of Commerce Certified Trade Mission to Germany.
- Served on the Board of Directors of Genie Energy Ltd. (NYSE: GNE) from 2012 to 2015. Genie Energy is an energy company headquartered in Newark, New Jersey, with businesses including IDT Energy and Genie Oil and Gas.
- Became an advisor to Forbes & Manhattan, a multinational natural resources exploration company, assisting with international capital-raising efforts.
- Appointed by U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gary Locke and U.S. Trade Representative Ambassador Ron Kirk to serve on the Industry Trade Advisory Committee (ITAC 6), advising the United States Government on international energy trade policy.
- Co-led a U.S. Commerce Department Trade Mission to Belarus.
- Served from 2010 to 2023 on the Board of Directors of IDW Media Holdings, Inc. (OTC Pink: IDWM), a diversified media company with interests in publishing, entertainment, gaming, and related businesses.
- Co-led the U.S. Commerce Department Trade Mission to the Republic of Georgia with Under Secretary of Commerce John Sullivan, U.S. Trade Representative Larry Walther, and Overseas Private Investment Corporation Director Robert Mosbacher Jr.
- Founded the Global Foundation for Christians, Muslims, and Jews.
- Successfully completed the Series 39 and Series 7 General Securities Representative examinations and qualifications.
- Founding Chairman of The Doheny Global Group, a boutique broker-dealer that initiated international real estate and energy ventures in Ukraine and the Republic of Georgia.
- Received rabbinical ordination.
- Served as Executive Director of The Jerusalem Fund.
